Our story

A local idea with a lasting ambition.

We believe geography should never decide how far a child’s imagination can travel.

Where it began

Built here, for here.

The Book Lane RYK began with a simple observation: bright, curious students in our government schools were eager to read, but had too few books within reach.

So we started building libraries—one shelf, one classroom and one school at a time. We partner with teachers and local communities because meaningful change lasts when it belongs to everyone.

Children learning together

Our mission

Make books feel close.

Build accessible, welcoming libraries and nurture a joyful reading culture in underserved government schools.

Our vision

Every child, a reader.

A South Punjab where every young person can read widely, write confidently and imagine freely.

Our promise

Stay rooted.

Listen first, work transparently and design every programme around students and their teachers.

Why literacy matters

Reading changes what feels possible.

Literacy strengthens learning in every subject. It builds confidence, empathy and the ability to participate fully in community life.

Across South Punjab, rural distance, limited school budgets and a shortage of age-appropriate books can narrow opportunity. We focus on practical, school-based access that meets children where they already are.
